This Halloween, Zach and I were able to pass out a few tracts. I have never done this before, but was encouraged– mostly by social media — to use this opportunity as an evangelistic one. People coming to your door for the purpose of receiving free things is practically the easiest way to be able to give out tracts, like, ever.
Living Waters always posts something about this holiday; I think they even have a sale in hopes of getting people to evangelize during this time. That being said, I knew about this last year when I was in Scotland. I wish I had the courage then to be able to pass out tracts to people.
This Halloween, there were literally no trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood, so we headed on over to my parents house. They weren’t planning on handing out candy, so it was just Zach and I. We decided to pass out tracts when we saw that most of the kids were with their parents, and we used The Atheist Test tract. We were able to give away five or six– there were only a couple groups that came around by the time we got there.
Most of the parents were really charitable and received the tracts with joy. We didn’t get to have many conversations with them besides being able to explain what the tracts were. Please pray for them and that they would be changed by the Gospel if they are not already saved. Pray the Lord would work on their hearts and that He would place them in biblical churches. Pray for us and that we get to have more opportunities this winter to be able to have evangelism outreach events!
In addition to our passing out tracts, our friends over at biblicalbeginnings.wordpress.com were able to as well! This is her daughter giving out the Kids Million Dollar Bill while trick-or-treating!
